kenzieKenzie Friesen (B.Sc. ExSc, CEP, NCCP Lev. 1, CPR) has a passion for softball which began at a very young age, while watching Jennie Finch at the Women’s World’s Championship here in Saskatoon.  Having pitched with the Saskatoon Phantom’s, Saskatoon Selects, and Saskatoon G-Force, she went on to play college ball at the NCAA Div. 1.  She has various levels of playing experience including Western Canadians, Canadians, Canada Summer Games 2013, and international competition at the Canada Cup of Softball at Surrey, B.C. as well as competing and mentoring a team in Asia through Competitive Edge International.  Kenzie has experience as a pitcher, positional player and batter being a contributing factor in the success of many of her own teams or as a guest pitcher, most recently at Junior Nationals in 2015 with the Wildcat Warriors, where she batted .417 and had an ERA of 0.34 ensuring a Silver medal for the team.
Kenzie received instruction from various coaches, including Don Bates at the Softball Academy at Tommy Douglas Collegiate, collegiate pitching coaches, and mentoring from Dave Pearce, and Rob Guenter.
As a pitcher she has developed various pitches including a 65+ mph fastball, curve, rise, drop, screw and change-up.
Her dedication to the sport is evident in her proficient and enthusiastic approach to developing young pitchers.  Her goal is to help them reach their full potential by learning mechanics, control, and mental approach to game situations, while sharing her own love of the game.
