Going Yard aims to improve the fundamental skill level of each player and to instill fun and overall excitement for the game of baseball. Going Yard Baseball offers premier training information and cues that can be used in gameplay!
GYTC Fall Ball (Instructional League)
Age Range: 8 to 16 years old
An instructional 12 week camp including x22 total sessions.
The schedule is 12 consecutive weeks of Wednesdays & Saturday’s. We do not practice on long weekends.
Wednesdays – Batting Practice – Players will be grouped by age between 5:00 PM & 9:00 PM on Wednesdays evenings for hour-long batting practice. These Practices will focus on the offensive side of the game, including the understanding of the swing, timing, and approach. Wednesday evening batting practice will take place at the gordie howe sports complex.
Saturdays – Skill Development – sessions will focus on fundamentals in the following disciplines; in in-Fielding, out-fielding, Pitching, & Baserunning. These sessions will be two hours in length. players are split into two groups. Either 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Practices will take place at Geoff Hughes baseball complex until inclement weather. Once it is too cold outside we will move indoors to the gordie howe sports complex.
with the newly acquired space of the indoor facility, we will also experiment with indoor Scrimmages may also be played during Saturday times. Players will be divided on to teams of a similar age and skill.
The Fall Ball Instructional program will begin on August 10th at 10:00 AM 2019 at the geoff hughes baseball complex. The program will end on November 3rd, 2019.
The cost of the program is $299.00 + Tax

GYTC Fall Ball (Travel Team)
This is Going Yards premier program! This is our favorite program to coach. This being our 10th season of running Fall Baseball this program we find this is the most successful for development and fun. The perfect mixture of instruction and gameplay, to extend each players season and develop their in-game experience.
Age Range: 11 to 18 years old.
The Fall Ball Team package: The team practices for the travel program are coordinated by the team and their coach through a team Linkt account. Practices will be coordinated x2 weekly from August 15th to October 1st outdoors. From October 1st to November 9th there will continue to be x2 weekly practices but they will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings indoors at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex. Team registrants can expect 2 weekly practices, games, and a culmination tournament in Phoenix, Arizona.
By registering for this program you are looking to extend your season with skilled coaches that will work to strengthen the fundamentals of your player in a team setting.
Fall Ball players will be designated a dedicated & qualified coach as well as assistant coach. Players can expect approx 20 practices and 8 to 12 games. Players will be placed on rosters and can expect weekday practices intermingled with weekend games/practices. Both home and away exhibition games with fall ball programs in Saskatchewan and Alberta are being arranged. To conclude, we travel to Phoenix for the school break November 9th to 11th to compete in the USSSA Veterans Salute tournament.

U16 – Resch – 7:00PM to 9:00PM.
Please submit your registration form for your player. GY staff will receive the registration form. There is a non-refundable $40 tryout fee. If you would like to defer payment until after the tryout process just navigate away from the payment gateway page once the form is completed. Players who are not selected for a travel program are recommended to participate in the Instructional Program.
